The Night of Photography has become the highlight of the Tbilisi Photo Festival, with at least 10,000 people coming each year to see some of the best images from across the globe.   It was launched in 2010 as a Caucasian version of the Arles Photo Festival’s “La Nuit de l’Annee”. 

In 2018 the Night of Photography is back to the heart of the Georgian capital and will be held in Betlemi district – one of the oldest and the most authentic parts of Tbilisi. On Saturday, September 15th, 8 large media screens will be set up in the streets of Betlemi District that overlooks the city.

The program of the 9th edition of Night of Photography will feature the works of around 300 photographers from all over the world. The partnership between Tbilisi Photo Festival and Les Rencontres d’Arles continues and the part of the program of Arles’ “Night of the Year will be part of the Tbilisi Night of Photography in 2018 too. For the first time there will be names from Greece via the selection of Athens TransEuropean Photography Portfolio reviews, Landskrona Photo Festival from Sweden will feature its selection too and will be part of the program for the first time as well as Chobi Mela - promising photo festival in Bangladesh that will showcase the group of young Bangladeshi photographers.

The works on show are provided by over 20 different festivals, agencies, organisations and publications, including the Angkor Photo Festival, La Nuu de Fotografia, Ria Keburia Gallery, British Journal of Photography, Noor agency, Lensculture, Delhi Photo Festival, Vasa Project, Latvian Museum etc.   as usually Independent photographers are part of the program in 2018.

The 9th edition of Tbilisi Night of Photography will feature also the shortlisted artists selected via Open Call announced for the international participants.  


Tbilisi Night of Photography remains the central event of Tbilisi Photo Festival and attracts a big public for open air night screening in breath-taking Old Tbilisi.
